At mom&#8217;s request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Richview Baptist Church, 1548 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke. The family will receive friends at the church after the service. If desired, donations to the Heart &#038; Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><strong>EMILY SIZAKELE SIKAKANE</strong> &#8211; Emily Sizakele Sikakane went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2009 at 7:30 p.m., surrounded by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Ebenezer Sikakane, all her children and their spouses. She devoted her life in Christian service, her marriage and her family of five children and nine grandchildren. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and several in-laws. Visitation will be from on Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 275 Lesmill Road, Toronto. A celebration of her life will be at Richview Baptist Church, 1548 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke, ON, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Private funeral service and burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts to African Enterprise, 128 East Palm Avenue, Monrovia, California 91016, would be appreciated.</p>

Dearly beloved wife of the late Charles (Mac). Loving mother of Joy Gardiner, David (Diane), Paul (Maureen) and Bruce (Janice). Special Grandma of Ian, Lesley (Steve), Carolyn, Stephanie, Catherine, Jeffrey, Melissa, Graham and Bethany. Dear sister of Bernice (George Warner), Alex Cruickshank and the late George and Dick Cruickshank and sister-in-law of Ruth and Helen Cruickshank. Sadly missed by relatives and friends. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston from 10:30 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m., reception to follow on Monday, December 29, 2008. Private family interment. <p>Rovell Patrick Solomon of Jackson Town, Jamaica, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at his home in Mississauga after a lengthy illness. He spent his final hours in the loving embrace of his family. Predeceased by his sister Edna. Beloved husband of Sylvia and father of Christopher. Survived by siblings Lynton, Dermot, Ina, Tim, Delroy, and their spouses. A life- long educator, Patrick graduated from Mico Teachers College before teaching at Clarendon College in Jamaica. After moving to Canada in 1969, he taught in Cambridge and Etobicoke before completing his doctorate and taking a position with the Faculty of Education at York University. There, he was instrumental in the creation of the faculty&#8217;s Urban Diversity program which continues to foster an ever- widening pool of teaching talent. Visitation will be at Turner &#038; Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. both days. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Richview Baptist Church, 1548 Kipling Ave. (N. of Eglinton). Private interment and public reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the York University Foundation for a memorial scholarship in his name. York University will hold a memorial service at a later date.</p>

Much loved mother of David, Donald and John (Cheri) of Toronto and Bruce (Samantha) of Alberta. Cherished grandmother of Lee and Colleen. Also saddened by her passing are siblings Kay (Bruce) Merrill, Dick (Audrey) Gainer and Jim (Sheila) Gainer. Predeceased by sisters RoseAnn Reynolds and Florence Simpkins and brother Edward. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><blockquote><p><strong>LLOYD McCONNIE</strong> Passed away peacefully at the William Osler Health Centre on December 28, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. He was born in St. Vincent, British West Indies on August 19, 1928. After the sudden death of his wife Susan, in 1984, Lloyd devoted his entire life to his two sons, Bowen and Graeme and his daughter Suzanne, whom he loved dearly. Lloyd was an active volunteer with the Martingrove Baseball League. He served on the Martingrove Baseball executive for many years and was a life member of the Etobicoke Baseball Association. Named in his honour is Etobicoke&#8217;s annual Lloyd McConnie Rookie Ball Tournament. Lloyd will be sadly missed by his 10 siblings and his first wife Maria. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Ave. (two blocks north of Rexdale Blvd.) from Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. <strong>Funeral service Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from Richview Baptist Church, 1548 Kipling Ave. (north of Eglinton Ave.)</strong>. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens. Mr. McConnie will rest in the Church from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Contributions can be made in memory of Lloyd McConnie to a trust fund for his two sons, located at TD Canada Trust at Westway and Martingrove Rd.</p>
