			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Richview is searching for two summer students. We are looking for one university student to begin as soon as possible, and one high school student to begin on July 6 for 8 weeks.</p>
<p>These students will help to plan and run a 4-week summer camp for at-risk low-income community children. This camp includes recreation, teaching, arts and crafts, music, science and trips.</p>
<h3>Duties will include:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Planning the summer camp, including programming and promotion </li>
<li>Recruiting volunteers to serve within the summer camp</li>
<li>Partnering with other organizations running similar programs, such as Urban Promise, for learning and mutual support</li>
<li>Participating as a leader within the summer camp program</li>
</ul>
<h3>Students who are eligible to participate must:</h3>
<ul>
<li>be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;</li>
<li>have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year, and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;</li>
<li>be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and</li>
<li>be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;</li>
<li>not work 30 hours or more per week at another job.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Richview Baptist Church in Toronto is searching for candidates for the position of Director of Community Outreach. </p>
<h3>Children&#8217;s Program Purpose</h3>
<p>To empower the church to develop relationships with at-risk children (ages 5-10) and their families in the neighborhood surrounding Richview Baptist Church, so that they experience God&#8217;s transforming power in every area of their lives: socially, intellectually, physically, and spiritually.</p>
<h3>Description of Program</h3>
<p>The children&#8217;s program consists of three components:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Summer Day Camp</strong> &#8211; recreation, Bible teaching, arts, and crafts</li>
<li><strong>After-School Program</strong> &#8211; homework assistance, recreation, and Bible study</li>
<li><strong>Relationship Building</strong> with children and their families outside of the formal program</li>
</ul>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<p>As an integrated part of Richview&#8217;s leadership team:</p>
<ul>
<li>To recruit, motivate, and train people to participate in the programs and to develop relationships with neighborhood children and their families</li>
<li>To develop and run a nine-month After-School Program and a four- to six-week Summer Day Camp, including team development, administration, communication with families and schools, curriculum planning, community networking, volunteer and staff supervision, and implementation of safety standards</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Qualifies for membership at Richview Baptist Church</li>
<li>Post-secondary degree or life experience</li>
<li>Experience in teaching or training</li>
<li>Experience working with children and youth</li>
<li>Basic computer skills (email and word processing)</li>
<li>Self-motivated, team-focused, passionate about ministry</li>
<li>Excellent people skills; good organizational skills</li>
<li>Valid driver&#8217;s license preferred</li>
</ul>
<p>References required. A criminal record check will be required. A minimum three-year commitment to the job is expected.</p>

<li>Building relationships with community leaders and organizations</li>
<li>Arranging two community projects for the church to serve the community</li>
<li>Helping with Etobicoke Strategy, homework club, and other local community initiatives</li>
<li>Proposing potential ministries for the church to pursue</li>
<li>Communicating importance of community ministry to the congregation</p>
</ol>
