Richview is searching for two summer students. We are looking for one university student to begin as soon as possible, and one high school student to begin on July 6 for 8 weeks.
These students will help to plan and run a 4-week summer camp for at-risk low-income community children. This camp includes recreation, teaching, arts and crafts, music, science and trips.
Duties will include:
- Planning the summer camp, including programming and promotion
- Recruiting volunteers to serve within the summer camp
- Partnering with other organizations running similar programs, such as Urban Promise, for learning and mutual support
- Participating as a leader within the summer camp program
Students who are eligible to participate must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year, and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
- not work 30 hours or more per week at another job.
