Summer Student Jobs at Richview

Richview is searching for two summer students. We are looking for one university student to begin as soon as possible, and one high school student to begin on July 6 for 8 weeks.

These students will help to plan and run a 4-week summer camp for at-risk low-income community children. This camp includes recreation, teaching, arts and crafts, music, science and trips.

Duties will include:

  • Planning the summer camp, including programming and promotion
  • Recruiting volunteers to serve within the summer camp
  • Partnering with other organizations running similar programs, such as Urban Promise, for learning and mutual support
  • Participating as a leader within the summer camp program

Students who are eligible to participate must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year, and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
  • be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
  • not work 30 hours or more per week at another job.
