Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Bernice McGowan. Predeceased by his first wife Marjorie James. Loving father of Beverley (Robert) Dormer and Roy (Darlene). Dear step-father of Stephen (Debbie) McGowan, Nancy (Paul) Charlton and John (Lori) McGowan. Proud Papa of Laurie, Lisa and Jessey, Jordan, Stephanie; and Grandpa George of Matthew, Fraser, Christopher and Katelyn. Survived by sister Dorothy Dickie. Predeceased by brothers Fred and Roy. George was a long time member of High Park Baptist Church.
