As you may know, we're beginning to read through The Radical Cross between now and Easter. You can buy a copy of the book and follow our reading plan. You can also follow along using The Radical Cross blog, which will feature a daily quote from Tozer's book.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day period leading up to Easter. In many churches, pastors mark the forehead of each participant with black ashes, in the shape of a cross, which the worshipper traditionally retains until washing it off after sundown. The symbolism echoes the ancient Near Eastern tradition of throwing ash over one's head signifying repentance before God (as related numerous times in the Bible).
You are invited to join us for an Ash Wednesday service this Wednesday, February 21 from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
The 2006 Annual Report is now available for download (PDF - requires the free Adobe Reader).
A fourth draft of our new Incorporation is now available. This draft will be presented for congregational approval at our March 4 annual meeting.

This Lent, we'll be working through A.W. Tozer's book The Radical Cross: Living the Passion of Christ as we approach Easter. You can order copies through the church office for a suggested donation of $15, or through Amazon or Chapters.
A reading plan is available for download (in PDF - requires the free Adobe Reader).

For some time now, I've regretted that Dr. Al Roxburgh and I pastored in Toronto at the same time, and I never got to meet him. Roxburgh is one of my favorite authors, having written books like The Sky is Falling!?! and The Missional Leader. I try to read everything he writes.
Bill Kinnon and I have talked about asking Alan to come and talk about missional leadership, and it's finally happening.
Things have come together and Bill and I are happy to announce an evening with Alan Roxburgh at Richview Baptist Church on March 19th @ 7:30PM.The Missional Leadership Conversation with Alan Roxburgh is a Resonate ECHO event and is being sponsored by Resonate and Allelon. Visit the Roxburgh Toronto website for more information, and please let us know if you are planning on attending.
And if you'd like to help to get the word out, click on the Marketing Buttons link on the event site and grab one of these great looking buttons for your blog or website.
